Vitamin B-12 Injections

We use Vitamin B12 in cyanocobalamin form

Cyanocobalamin is the most common and widely-produced of the chemical compounds that have vitamin activity as vitamin B12. Because the body can convert cyanocobalamin to any one of the active vitamin B12 compounds, by definition this makes cyanocobalamin itself a form of B12.

There are eight different types of B vitamins:

  • Vitamin B1 (thiamine)
  • Vitamin B2 (riboflavin)
  • Vitamin B3 (niacin or niacinamide)
  • Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)
  • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, or pyridoxamine, or pyridoxine hydrochloride)
  • Vitamin B7 (biotin)
  • Vitamin B9 (folic acid)

Although there are some other configurations of Vitamin b12

Cyanocobalamin is the most common and widely-produced of the chemical compounds that have vitamin activity as vitamin B12.

Injection site: The best place to inject vitamin B12 is in the deltoid muscle because there is a decreased chance of injuring a nerve or artery.

Vitamin B-12: Are you getting enough of it?

How To Care For Your Skin The skin is one of the

largest organs in the body. It is very important that we take care of our skin in order to exude a young healthy appearance. There are several simple steps that you can take to care for your skin. Follow these steps and you too can have beautiful skin that will be the envy of everyone.

Avoid excessive exposure to the sun

  • Don’t spend too much time in the sun between 10 am & 2 pm This is the time that the sun rays are the strongest.
  • Don’t forget to wear sunscreen even if you are in the winter Sun rays can damage skin as they reflect off snow. Apply sunscreen with a broad spectrum at least 30 minutes before going outside. Don’t forget to reapply a generous amount every two hours when sweating or after getting into water. We recomend the Anti-Photoaging Sunscreen SPF 45 or Oil Free Moisturizing Suncreen SPF 30 available at our Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale, CA.
  • Always wear protective clothing You can wear tightly woven long-sleeved shirts, long pants and hats with a wide brim to protect your face. You can even wear special sun-protective clothing, which is specially designed to block ultraviolet rays while keeping you cool and comfortable.

Too much sun exposure not only can cause wrinkles, freckles, age spots, rough, dry skin but it can also cause a very dangerous and aggressive form of skin cancer. If you have any of these types of skin problems you might be a candidate for our microdermabrasion treatments. Visit our Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale, CA for this wonderful treatment.

Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water

Eating a healthy diet is not only important for your overall health but it will also be reflected on your skin.

Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. Avoid greasy foods and those that are full of sugar. Research suggests that a diet rich in vitamin C and low in fats and carbohydrates may promote younger looking skin. Also, drinking plenty of water helps to maintain your skin moist and free of toxins.

Treat your skin softly

Sometimes your skin can become dry, red and irritated due to the fact that you wash, scrub or shave so, do it carefully and follow these tips:

  • Limit bath time: Water that is too hot and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit the time you spend and use only warm water not hot.
  • Do not use strong soaps: Strong abrasive soaps can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers.
  • Shave carefully: For the closest shave, use a clean, sharp razor. Always, apply shaving cream, gel or lotion before shaving to protect and lubricate your skin. Use warm water to open up the pores and soften the hair. Never shave against the grain. Shave in the direction the hair grows, not against it. Use soft, gentle, smooth strokes when shaving. You can also use a very safe method of hair removal like our Laser Hair Removal System that we offer at Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale, CA.
  • Pat dry: Always after washing, bathing or even shaving, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin.
  • Moisturize dry skin: Find a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type and makes your skin feel and look soft. At our Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale, CA we offer Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatments, that will help your skin look softer and younger.

Avoid Stress

Too much stress can also affect your skin in a negative way. Some people may suffer from blemishes or skin conditions that are simply caused by stress.

In order to not only have healthy skin but better overall health too; take the necessary steps to reduce stress. Decrease the amount of things you do and take time for yourself. Practice a sport or hobby that you can enjoy. You will be surprised to see how much younger and healthier your skin will look. You can also pamper yourself with any of our relaxing treatments at our Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale, CA.

Don’t smoke

It goes without saying that smoking is unhealthy and addictive. When you smoke your skin will look older and more wrinkled.

Smoking causes the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin to narrow, which decreases blood flow. This depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients, such as vitamin A, that are important to skin health. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin — fibers that give your skin its strength and elasticity. Also, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking can contribute to wrinkles. For instance, when you squint your eyes to keep out smoke or when you purse your lips when inhaling can cause wrinkles.

If you smoke one of the best ways to protect your skin is to quit. Ask your healthcare professional for tips or treatments to help you stop smoking.

If you would like your skin to look more vibrant and younger try our Photo Rejuvenation Treatment at our Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale, CA.

Say Good-bye to that Old Tattoo with MedLite Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment!

Decorative tattoos are an ancient art form with origins that trace back as far as the Stone Age (12,000 BCE). They have become increasingly popular across cultures and continents, and have established a statement on the American mainstream culture.

Moreover, studies estimate that more than 10 million Americans have at least one tattoo.

Due to this “tattoo-mania” some researchers have focused their attention on how satisfied these individuals are with their tattoos over time.

Consequently, recent studies have shown that 50% of those who get tattoos later regret them and seek a tattoo removal treatment. Glenoaks Laser Center, our professional med spa in Glendale, has developed the best techniques for tattoo removal without much scarring.

MedLite laser treatment for tattoo removal

Our state-of-the art MedLite laser is your best choice for tattoo removal. The advent of Q-Switched lasers has permitted the removal of most tattoo inks with a very low risk of scarring or damage to the skin.

How does the MedLite laser work?

The MedLite laser can significantly lighten or remove a wide variety of tattoo inks. It uses specific wavelengths of light that penetrate the skin where the tattoo is located and is then absorbed by the ink. The instant absorption of the light enables the ink to break down into tiny fragments that are naturally removed by the body’s scavenging cells. The MedLite tattoo removal laser rapidly removes any type of tattoos leaving your skin unharmed.

How many treatments are needed to completely remove a tattoo?

On average, professional tattoos require 6-8 treatments to accomplish greater than 95% fading. However, the amount of treatments needed depend on the type of tattoo, the color and kind of ink used, the size and the depth of the ink level. Moreover, particular characteristics of the patient, such as age, health and the body’s ability to heal, will determine the amount of laser sessions needed. ,

Is the treatment painful or uncomfortable?

The pulse of light emitted by the MedLite laser may feel like a snap of tiny rubber bands on the skin. Anesthesia is normally not required, but anesthetic ointments are available if needed. Most importantly, our caring staff at Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale will make your tattoo removal treatment feel safe and painless.

What precautions should be taken after treatment?

After the laser treatment, a special antibiotic is placed on the treated area and the skin should be left dry for a few days. The skin may appear swelled and red for some time; therefore, you should avoid sun exposure until the skin has completely healed.

Are there other treatment options besides laser?

There are other tattoo removal methods but most of them do not offer as much fading as laser therapy does. Techniques such as saltabration, excisions, camouflage or dermabrasion are risky, painful and damage the skin by leaving noticeable scars. This is why the use of laser therapy has become the sole alternative for tattoo removal.

Acne lesions or pimples form when the skin pores become plugged with oil and dead skin, hosting a great amount of bacteria that develops in those areas. Consequently, these growing bacteria cause the red, puss-filled bumps we call pimples.

There are different types of acne:

  • Mild acne: characterized by the usual blackhead and whiteheads most of us get. Moderately severe acne: this manifests with red inflamed pimples and red pimples with a white pus-filled center.

Types of acne scars:

  • Ice-pick Scars: the skin looks as it has been pierced with an ice-pick which produces holes in the skin.
  • Boxed Scars: these are wider depressions than ice-picks which give the skin a pitted appearance.
  • Rolling Scars: these types of acne scars produce wave-like undulations leaving the skin with a rolling appearance.
  • Hypertrophic Scars: these scars look like an upright, firm mass of tissue which develop by an over production of collagen under the skin.

Laser Hair Removal as a Treatment for Ingrown Hair

Articles

Our med spa in Glendale would like to share a series of articles containing important information and news that are beneficial for your health and beauty. We will be sharing articles regarding beauty treatments, laser use in skin treatments, such as hair removal, tattoo removal and more!

When a person shaves or waxes their hair, the broken off or short embedded hair that remains can get trapped inside the hair follicle and grow sideways or can grow back into the skin. This ingrown hair may or may not be accompanied by an infection of the hair follicle or razor bumps and can be painful.

Ingrown hair most commonly appears on the face, legs, and bikini line, but can appear anywhere. Sometimes ingrown hair occurs naturally without shaving, as blocked pores, too much dead skin, or tight clothing prevent hair from emerging from the follicle.

Laser hair removal can eliminate ingrown hair, leaving your skin smooth and hair-free for longer and even indefinite periods of time. During laser hair removal, the laser beam targets the hair follicles deep beneath the skin, disabling the root and stops any regrowth from that follicle. Since the entire hair follicle is destroyed, you do not have to worry about ingrown hairs. Laser hair removal can be performed on almost any part of the body and will make hair lighter, finer, and prevent ingrown hairs.

If you are thinking about laser hair removal as a treatment for ingrown hair, we offer great deals for you. Get a free, instant consultation to find out if laser hair removal is right for you!

A tattoo is a permanent mark that people make in order to signify where they come from, where they want to go or what matters the most in their life. While it is easy to get an airbrushed temporary tattoo one day and wash it off the other, getting permanently inked is a serious thought. You can find a service for tattoo removal, but it is better to avoid any of the following top tattoo mistakes:

  • Spelling Mistake– There can be nothing worse than a spelling mistake when you want to ink the name of a person or an organization on your body. These tattoos look awful and often make you the subject of ridicule. Such tattoos, if made, should be removed as soon as possible. As the word is so endearing, Laser tattoo removal can sometimes be a difficult decision, only sometimes.
  • Going With the Flow– Most newbie tattoo enthusiasts wish to ink the name of their lovers/significant other on their body. There are some people who would simply choose a tattoo design because it is “in”. However, in both the cases, you get nothing substantial once the wave of excitement is gone. The result is a tattoo you will regret having.
  • The Wrong Body Part– you cannot get a small star made on your back that barely covers a square inch. Such a tattoo would look great on the nape of your neck or your wrist. But making it on the back is a bad decision. If you have small arms and want a very detailed design there, then you should probably think about getting the same design on your back. If you forego this step, your tattoo will end up having a rather ugly appearance.
  • Symbolic Representations– Symbols are great when they exist in the wallpaper of your desktop. You can change them any time you like. However, getting a symbol, especially a foreign language symbol, or a fictional character like the Incredible Hulk inked on your body may not be a very good idea. Would you still love the Hulk after 10 years? Are you really sure what a Chinese symbol inked on your arm means? If not, drop the idea.
  • Wrong Tattoo Artist– If you feel that you’ve chosen the wrong person for the job, there’s really not much we can say in regards to that, only that if you make the decision to trust someone who lacks the necessary talent and expertise, then you’ll probably end up regretting it a thousandfold.

While tattoos are permanent in nature, you can always erase them through a Laser tattoo removal procedure.

There are many Laser tattoo removal services around who will eliminate all signs of a tattoo on your body. Here at Glenoaks Laser Center we pay strict attention to details; sometimes a patient may need more of a certain procedure than others, perhaps he/she may require additional exposure to another Laser tattoo removal equipment or a pre-diagnose session to evaluate his specific needs in the case of having a very big tattoo, a delicate skin condition or he/she simply wants to set up a planned budget according to the specific tattoo removal cost and our updated prices. In either case, we always try to go straight to the point and reach our client’s full satisfaction, which happens to be our motto. Also, now that we’ve mentioned it, you’ll be surprised with the current rates we handle and how a tattoo removal cost is quite low when you come to think about what the original price was and what you were really missing out of life because of having made such a wrong decision.

Remember, we see what you don’t see, hidden sides of your tattoo you wouldn’t even imagined from a professional standpoint.

Vitamin B-12

Articles

Our med spa in Glendale would like to share a series of articles containing important information and news that are beneficial for your health and beauty. We will be sharing articles regarding beauty treatments, laser use in skin treatments, such as hair removal, tattoo removal and more!

Vitamin B-12: Are you getting enough of it?

Vitamin B12 has a long history and a solid reputation as an energy booster. This is why it is commonly referred to as the “energy vitamin”. It has the essential nutrients our bodies need in order to work properly and it’s considered the most important of all B-complex vitamins.

Key functions of B12 Vitamin:

  • Formation of red blood cells which increases the amount of oxygen intake.
  • Metabolizes fatty acids which are important in maintaining the nervous system and the brain.
  • Speeds up DNA synthesis during cell division, increasing the level of hemoglobin.
  • Helps loose weight as it speeds up metabolism.
  • Increases energy as it aids in the break down of carbohydrates into glucose.
  • Improves the body’s ability to fight stress.
  • Preserves in good health various organs such as the liver, eyes, skin and hair.

Due to the great benefits of vitamin B12, more and more people are now obtaining it on its most efficient form: injections. Our caring and experienced staff at Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale will establish how much and how often you need this vitamin. Thus, if you are experiencing the common symptoms of low levels of vitamin B12 with just one shot a week you will experience the difference!

People with the following characteristics or symptoms are more at risk of a vitamin B12 deficiency:

  • People experiencing shortness of breath, fatigue, lack of energy, sudden weight gain and sleeping disorders.
  • Vegetarians (people who don’t eat dairy products or eggs)
  • People with stomach malabsorption conditions that cause gastrointestinal disorders.
  • People infected with Helicobacter pylori (an organism that lives in the intestines and causes ulcers) because it destroys the stomach cells that make the substance the body needs to absorb B12.
  • Elderly individuals because the human ability to absorb B12 decreases with age.
  • People with an eating disorder

Vitamin B-12 injections will add major benefits to your life: an increase in energy, a better sleep, you will feel more alert, have a healthier skin, and reduce your stress levels. Take control over your body and your health with a boost to your metabolism.

Improve your health and save money at the same time! At Glenoaks Laser Center in Glendale we have amazing prices, seasonal deals and specials! and with only one injection per week you can experience the benefits!
