Now, you can grow LONGER, FULLER DARKER lashes. It’s not an illusion. It’s your own eyelashes — only better.

Get ready for an innovation in lashes

LATISSE® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.

LATISSE® works effectively

LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase.

Clinically proven results you can see over time

LATISSE® is FDA approved and effective. It’s a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Patients in a clinical trial saw results in as few as 8 weeks with full results after 12 to 16 weeks.

Botox & Xeomin

Botox & Xeomin

Fine facial lines and wrinkles are the first signs of aging. Our office is now offering both Botox and Xeomin wrinkle reduction procedures to help rejuvenate your look! Visit us today to feel young and beautiful again.

The Botox and Xeomin injections work equally by blocking nerve impulses which help relax the muscle. When the muscle relaxes, this stops all contractions which softens any visible wrinkles. Retreatment is required but patients will often see that their wrinkles return after several months and less severe as before.

Botox or Xeomin wrinkle reduction is available for an affordable price.

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin is a newest treatment available for erasing wrinkles and smoothing out your skin. Xeomin, like Botox, has the active ingredient botulinum toxin A. The botulium toxin is used to treat muscle spasms, abnormal neck pain and more regularly, wrinkles.

What is the difference between Botox and Xeomin?

Xeomin and Botox function identically to paralyze muscles and reduce wrinkles. They share an active ingredient named botulinum toxin A. The big difference is that Botox has an accompanying protein, but Xeomin does not. In the skin, all of the protein separates from the active ingredient within minutes of injection so the results from both Botox and Xeomin are the same. Xeomin has proven safe and effective in clinical trials.

How are the injections administered?

No anesthesia is involved and the injections take only a few minutes. Using a fine needle for maximum comfort and accuracy, the ingredient is injected into the muscle. To minimize bruising, it is recommended that patients refrain from using aspirin and any anti-inflammatory drugs at least two weeks prior to the procedure.

The Wrinkle Reduction Treatment with Botox or Xeomin will…

  • Give skin a smoother, softer and more youthful look
  • Make you look younger and more relaxed
  • Take only a few minutes and can be done on your lunch break
  • Last several months
  • Provide a non-surgical option with no scarring
  • Involve zero down time

Side effects with the wrinkle reduction treatment are minimal but they may include the following:

  • Pain at the injections site
  • Headaches
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Bleeding

How safe is the Botox or Xeomin treatment?

Both Botox and Xeomin injections are safe when administered by an experienced medical professional. We take pride in the quality of service and skill we have within our office regarding these treatments. We guarantee that your experience will be beneficial, comforting and relaxing while providing the results you want to achieve.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

We are pleased to announce what we are now offering Dermal Fillers at our office.

Over the course of our lifetime, our skin will change. In most cases, this change is not welcomed freely. The natural volume of youthful skin will lose volume which ultimately creates wrinkles and folds.

FDA approved JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is revolutionary dermal filler.

The gel helps by providing effortless consistency to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away your “smile lines” (also known as nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).

Juvederm facial fillers are FDA approved.

What can we use Dermal Fillers to treat?

  • Cheek augmentation
  • Peri-oral wrinkle
  • Lip augmentation
  • Laugh lines
  • Lip contouring
  • Naso-labial folds

What is a Dermal Filler?

Dermal Filler is a hyaluronic acid, which is a molecular substance that naturally already exists in the human body and a hydrating substance found in your skin. As part of the aging process, the skin begins to lose this hydrating substance. As a result, the skin begins to lose structure and volume. With a Dermal Filler, you would be able to gain back the lost hydration which restores the skin, making it look youthful. They are designed to effectively reduce unwanted wrinkles, create volume and to revitalize your appearance.

What are the benefits of Dermal Fillers?

  • Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  • Treatments are long-lasting
  • Look natural
  • Gives you control of your appearance as you age

How are Dermal Fillers injections applied?

For a more comfortable experience, Lidocaine (a local anesthetic) is included. We will also use a numbing cream before the procedure. The procedure itself takes about 15 minutes and the results are visible instantly. Minor swelling may occur after the procedure which usually settles quickly. The effects last for about 6-9 months after which the filler dissolves naturally in the body and lips return to how they were before treatment.

Is Dermal Filler Treatment safe?

Juviderm facial fillers are FDA approved. The fillers resemble hyaluronic acid which is naturally occurring within the human body. Comprehensive studies support its safety and efficacy with proof that Dermal Fillers have been used in over 10 million treatments worldwide.

This procedure will help to improve the look of varicose veins and spider veins. It can also help with related symptoms including aching, night cramps and inflammation. Your legs will look nicer, sexier and smoother, bringing your confidence back.

Sclerotherapy is known as a treatment for varicose veins and spider veins. The procedure involves administering FDA approved sclerosing agent (Polidocanol) into the affected vein. This solution causes the vein to produce scarring and then collapsing. This will force the blood flow to reroute into healthy veins instead of damaged ones. The damaged vein will eventually just get absorbed again into the local tissues and over time fades away.

Sclerotherapy is commonly the preferred treatment for small varicose veins.

Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are squiggly lines that are purple or blue in color. They are caused by aging when the valves in the veins start to not work properly. As a result, blood can stay in the vein and cause it to swell up.

Spider Veins

Spider veins are not harmful but they may cause burning, pain or aching. They appear to look like thin red lines or they will resemble a web of lines. Spider veins normally appear on your legs or feet.

Why Sclerotherapy?

  • This procedure will help to improve the look of varicose veins and spider veins.
  • It can also help with related symptoms including aching, night cramps and inflammation.
  • Your legs will look nicer, sexier and smoother, bringing your confidence back.
  • Asclera® (Polidocanol) Injection is a FDA approved prescription medicine that is used in a procedure called sclerotherapy to remove unwanted veins on your legs.
  • It works by irritating the endothelium, the cells lining the inside of the vessels, causing them to constrict and close.
  • It is administered only by a healthcare provider to treat varicose veins and
    spider veins
  • Asclera® is not used for varicose veins more than 3 mm in diameter.

What causes spider and reticular veins?

Spider and reticular veins can be caused by many factors.

Having a family member with prominent veins may increase the risk of you developing them. Approximately half of the people who get varicose veins have a family history of them.

The normal wear and tear of aging may cause valves in the veins to weaken and not work as well.

Women are two to three times more likely to develop varicose veins than men. Up to half of American women have varicose veins. Changes in hormones due to puberty, pregnancy, menopause, or taking birth control pills may increase a woman’s risk of developing varicose veins.

During pregnancy, the growth of the fetus increases the pressure on the veins in the legs. Varicose veins that occur during pregnancy usually improve within 3 to 12 months following delivery.

Having extra weight on the body can put additional pressure on the veins.

This is particularly true with legs bent or crossed. When standing or sitting with legs bent or crossed, the veins have to work harder to pump the blood up to the heart.

Other possible causes for varicose veins are race, posture, occupation, hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, primary valvular incompetence, and incompetent perforating veins.

Pigmented Lesion

Pigmented Lesion

Pigmented lesion is used for sun damaged skin, brown spots and uneven skin tones. It has also been used to increase collagen, improve pigmented acne scars, and lessen the redness with rosacea.

Preserve your skin’s natural beauty!

Just about everyone has a few obvious brown spots on their skin. Age spots, freckles, and various birthmarks are just a few of the commonly known marks generally referred to as pigmented lesions. Although some pigmented lesions can be ignored, many are quite conspicuous, and can easily detract from your skin’s natural beauty.

Glenoaks Laser Center Laser treatment for Pigmented lesions FAQ’s

Melanin is what gives our skin its color. The amount of melanin in your skin determines if you have a light or dark complexion. Pigmented lesions are dark in color simply because the melanin is abnormally concentrated in one area of the skin. High concentrations of melanin can be due to various factors. Some types are present at birth, but most occur with age, or as a result of overexposure to the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays.

The MedLite laser is one of the most technologically advanced lasers for removing pigmented lesions. The laser removes these pigments with the energy of light. The specialized light produced by the MedLite laser is absorbed by the pigmented lesion. The unwanted pigment is then destroyed, thus removing or lightening the lesion.

The MedLite is most commonly used for removing brown age spots, “liver spots”, freckles and other brown birthmarks, such as cafe-au-lait spots and Nevus of Ota.

No, the laser light of the MedLite was specifically designed to effectively target the dark concentrations of melanin. After the abnormal amounts of melanin are removed, and treatment continues on normal skin, some whitening could occur. However, your body’s natural regenerative system would replace the normal melanin over a period of time, returning the skin to its natural color.

The MedLite laser emits light in very short pulses. The impact of the energy from the power pulse of light is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band. After the treatment, the area will feel similar to a light sunburn. Typically any discomfort will disappear within a day or so. After the redness clears, the skin returns to its natural color and texture.

Most common pigmented lesions are removed within two to three treatments. Some deeper lesions will require more treatments.

Common pigmented lesions do not return. Some birthmarks may return after a period of several months to a year. However, the procedure can be repeated.

Usually, an antibacterial ointment and a dress will be applied to the area immediately after treatment. The treated area should be kept clean with a continued application of any ointment. A shower can be taken the next day, although the treated area should not be scrubbed.

Glenoaks Laser Center Microdermabrasion FAQ’s

If you have or have had acne, discolorations, superficial lines and wrinkles, uneven texture or sun damaged skin — you may be a candidate for Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion can not be expected to removed deep scars or wrinkles, birth marks or tattoos.

  1. Undiagnosed lesions
  2. Recent herpes outbreaks
  3. Warts
  4. Active, weeping acne (stages 3-4)
  5. Active Rosacea
  6. Unstable diabetes
  7. Auto-immune system disorders
  8. Some patients hyperpigment post-op. Lower pressures are used on follow-up treatments
  9. Using Retin A religiously or just had a chemical peel
  10. Recently had laser surgery

Microdemabrasion is a non-surgical way to repair and restore your skin to its youthful appearance. Our FDA approved treatment is a progressive method of refining the texture of your skin while tightening the layers below the surface. Our patented hand piece creates the vacuum stimulation required to increase blood flow to the surface of the skin for collagen and elastin reformation. You may find that just one microdermabrasion treatment provides the same benefits as a series of other modalities.

  1. Maintaining Healthy Skin
  2. Age Spots
  3. Acne Scaring
  4. Sun Damage
  5. Uneven Skin Tone Hyper-pigmentation
  6. Improving Skin
  7. Texture
  8. Large Pores
  9. Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  10. Scar Resurfacing

Our technology combines two important elements. A stream of pure crystals delivered to the outer layers of the skin and a vacuum to increase circulation. As damaged cells are lifted away from the skins surface, new cell production is simulated at the base layers of the skin. The skin will gradually appear smoother, firmer, younger and more radiant. This is also very effective for treatment and control of problem skin. For maximum results a routine of 4 to 8 treatments are recommended at 1 to 2 weeks intervals. Maintenance visits for age management are recommended quarterly, and more often for the treatment of skin dysfunction.

Depending on your consultation with a trained technician, a series of 4 to 8 treatments will achieve the desired results. Treatments should be scheduled 7 to 14 days apart to allow for maximum rejuvenation of the skin.

There really is no consultation, per se. This is such a non-invasive mini procedure that the details can be explained in 5 minutes and the rewards for such a long period of time if a series is undergone. Although maintenance sessions every few months should be sought.

A cleansing toner is applied to the skin to remove excess oils for better application and penetration. A self contained wand is manually passed over the skin in areas of damage or all over the face, which is usually the case. The machine delivers fine, sanitary aluminum oxide crystals to the face that “sand blasts” away dead skin and impurities. The procedure lasts about 20 to 30 minutes, depending upon the ‘depth’ or ‘strength’ of the peel. Afterwards a cotton ball saturated with a soothing toner is passed over the face then a re-hydrating cream and sun block are applied.

This effective, FDA approved method causes minimal discomfort and requires no recovery time. During the treatment you may feel a stinging/ tingling sensation as the crystals exfoliate your skin. There will be a visibly healthy glow following your treatment, similar to the flush of your skin after moderate cardiovascular activity. Removing the dead cells has revitalized your skin and prepared it for better absorption of a topical nutrient. We highly recommend the use of a high level sunscreen throughout and after your mirodermabrasion series. Continued treatments may be necessary, to maintain optimum results.

Microdermabrasion does not hurt although it may sting a little around the eye area. Your skin may feel a little hot and appear a little pink for the first day.

In most cases, yes. Although severe scarring will not be lessened in appearance with solely Microdermabrasion. Sometimes a Photorejuvenation treatment in conjunction with Microdermabrasion will increase your chances the best results possible.

You can return to work immediately with the application of a little loose powder. You may choose to schedule this on your day off or at least after work. Many patients schedule it on their lunch break but return with pink skin. There is no downtime per se, involved with Microdermabrasion.

Results are often times, immediate. We’re not talking life-altering results here, but a nice, clean, smooth feeling is apparent directly after. At least with a high quality machine. You will notice that your skin to be more even toned and textured. After the horny layer (dull dead skin cells) is removed you will notice an improvement overall. Especially after a series.

Not really maintenance but it is best that you schedule a session every few months for general upkeep. We hardly consider that maintenance, by definition. You will not magically return to your former damaged skin tone condition although occasional sessions can only make it better.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Reduce facial scars, wrinkles and blemishes with laser skin rejuvenation. Laser skin rejuvenation is non-ablative (does not remove any skin) and it has many benefits over other traditional laser procedures.

You deserve to look your best!

Laser skin rejuvenation is one of the latest and most exciting cosmetic procedures available. This treatment is perfect for those looking for a safe, quick procedure to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin. Laser skin rejuvenation has become the procedure of choice among top celebrities, as well as the “working” population who cannot afford time away from work to recover from more intense procedures, or who want a better solution to sun-damaged, aging or acne-scarred skin.

Glenoaks Laser Center Laser Skin Rejuvenation FAQ’s

Collagen provides the support network to our skin. As we age, the collagen breaks down causing lines and wrinkles. The laser works by stimulating collagen production. As the new collagen is generated, lines and wrinkles are decreased. Additionally, years of sun exposure can cause discoloration, large pores, and pigmented or red areas on the skin. Patients report, and studies have confi rmed, that this procedure results in a refreshed appearance, smoother skin texture, an even skin tone, and a decrease in pore size. Those with difficult acne scarring will also notice a marked improvement.

Because the action of laser skin rejuvenation is non-ablative (does not remove any skin) there are many benefi ts over other traditional laser procedures. The laser treatment is quick and offers no downtime – you can immediately return to your normal activities. There is minimal discomfort, and a very low risk of any complications. Patients will experience progressive improvement over several months for a fresh, natural look. Laser skin rejuvenation is compatible with a whole host of other cosmetic procedures so that maximum results can be achieved.

The MedLite laser used for skin rejuvenation is one of the safest lasers on the market today. In the hands of trained medical professionals, the MedLite laser offers a safe and effective treatment with very little risk of complications. Patients of all skin types can be safely treated – including tanned skin.

The laser can be used to rejuvenate many body areas including the face, hands, neck and chest.

Laser skin rejuvenation is a gradual process. Usually patients need 4-6 treatments spaced at 3-5 weeks apart. Many patients choose to return for touch-up treatments after the initial treatment session ends.

Laser skin rejuvenation is not painful. Many describe the feeling as a tingling sensation. Anesthesia is usually not necessary, but you may request a topical cream depending on your own experience.

This procedure eliminates the recovery associated with other ablative laser skin resurfacing treatments. Laser skin rejuvenation does not remove any surface skin or cause any visible effect beyond a mild to moderate redness, which usually fades within an hour after treatment. No specific care is needed after treatment, although you may be asked to avoid sun and some skin products for a period of time after the treatment. It is important to follow your physician’s instructions exactly.
